A HubSpot Member Portal Built for Events and Connection

The Collective Genius is a mastermind community for real estate investors. Its members come together to learn from one another, share resources, and build relationships that extend well beyond its events.

The Challenge

Events give The Collective Genius community a chance to connect. The team wanted its online experience to keep that value going between gatherings, with a place for members to revisit event recordings, prepare for upcoming sessions, and find other people in the network.

Its previous membership software could not support the video hosting and directory features needed to make that happen. The Collective Genius needed a portal that could bring those experiences together while giving members with multiple membership tiers access to the right views.

The Solution

MDM built a HubSpot-based member portal around three things The Collective Genius wanted to make easier:

Events and recordings in one place. MDM organized events by quarter, giving members access to past event information and details for upcoming gatherings. Members can explore schedules and breakout sessions, then return to the portal to watch past event recordings.

A directory members can explore. MDM built a directory where members can search by name or membership tier. Profiles include contact details, location, business niche, market, and quarterly initiatives, so members can learn more about someone before reaching out. A Google Maps integration lets them see where others in the network are located.

More ways to stay connected. MDM set up connection requests through a HubSpot form and added a referral tool and Dropbox file access. Members with multiple membership tiers can switch between their corresponding portal views.

The Impact

The Collective Genius now has the video library and member directory its previous software could not provide. Event recordings remain available after a gathering ends, and members have a clearer way to find the people, event details, and resources they’re looking for.

The portal brings those pieces into one HubSpot-based experience, giving The Collective Genius an easier and more complete way to support its community between events.
